授業の目的  
This course will discuss communication from the realm of sociology. We can say that our daily lives are made up of layers of communication. Using the sociological tools of micro-sociology such as ethnomethodology, sociology of emotion, dramaturgy, pluralistic reality theory, vocabulary of motivation, body techniques, and habitus. Students will look at their everyday lives from a different angle, which people usually consider self-evident.

After completing this course, you will be able to:
1). Understand some concepts and basic theories about communications in micro sociology.
2). Understand the fundamental structure of the speech act theory and the theory of communicative action of Habermas.
3). Take a critical attitude to various phenomena which will occur in contemporary society.

授業概要  
This course introduces concepts and arguments for thinking sociologically about the world of everyday life that we are in casual contact with, in order to learn more about the society in which we live, and to be exposed to sociological ideas. There will be no textbook used throughout the course, but reference books and articles will be provided for further study. Although the course is lecture-based, questions and opinions from students will be taken up in the lectures, utilizing the LMS, to clear up any doubts and to promote interactive interactions. Students are expected not only to attend lectures, but also to actively submit questions and comments.

成績評価基準(授業評価方法) 及び 関連するディプロマポリシー  
An exam will be given at the end of the semester, but may be a report depending on the situation.
The evaluation criteria are as follows (the figures in parentheses are the relevant diploma policies).
1. Logical and correct answers to questions (assignments) 20% (B)
2. Correct understanding of the course content and the description based on it 60% (A, E, F, I)
3. Sufficient persuasiveness of the description 20% (A, B, E)
4. [In the case of a report] Correct reference (points will be deducted up to 40% according to the problems) (D)
